A Honeybee has four wings.

A Honeybee strokes its wings about 11,500 times a minute.

Honeybees fly at a speed of 24.14 K.P.H. (15 M.P.H.).

Honeybees use the sun as a compass which helps them navigate.

In one trip, a Honeybee visits approximately 75 flowers.

Honey is the only food that does not spoil. Honey found in the tombs of Egyptian Pharaohs has been tasted by archaeologists and although candied it was found still edible.

Bees communicate with other bees by dancing. Their dance alerts other bees as to which direction and the distance nectar and pollen is located.

The sole purpose of a drone bee is to mate with the queen bee and in one day, she can lay up to 1,500 eggs.

A colony of Honeybee have to fly almost 88,514 kilometres (55,000 miles) and must tap approximately two million flowers to make 0.45kg (1lb) of honey.

It takes approximately 12 Honeybees to make one teaspoon of honey.

The beeswax that is produced by Honeybees comes from eight paired glands that are located on the underside of their stomach.

The word “super” to a beekeeper refers to the hive box where the honey is stored.

The honey badger can withstand hundreds of bee stings that would otherwise kill another animal.

In the United States, you are more likely to be killed by a bee sting than a shark attack.

The honeybee kills more people world-wide than all the poisonous snakes combined.
